Reading to your child is both a wonderful way to spend time together and also an effective way to engage your child in conversation. Students of all ages love stories and love to talk about stories. "Literature provides students with opportunities to make connections with their own lives, provides a context to think and practise mathematics, and enriches students' view of the world of mathematics." A Guide to Effective Instruction in Mathematics, Kindergarten to Grade 6. Listed below are a few titles to begin the conversation about mathematics at home. These picture books are connected to several math strands of the Ontario mathematics curriculum from your child's report card:

If your child would like to hear a specific song during their session, please email them in advance to [email protected] – don’t forget to include teacher’s name and grade! Prizes will be awarded based on the total amount of pledges raised by each student; who in turn can choose their preferred prize from the prize list. We also have an ice cream social class challenge. Pledge forms due date has been extended to January 27. Don’t have a pledge form? – no problem! Extra pledge forms are available on School Council’s website, where you will also find the most up to date list of prizes and amazing community sponsors! .
